SIA TO COVER BEATLES SONG FOR KIDS’ SHOW

Netflix has had a lot of success in creating original content aimed towards teens and adults, but now they’re really starting to dig into children’s television. And what better way to do so than to introduce the show “Beat Bugs,” which features a group of five bugs who love to explore, set to a soundtrack of Beatles songs covered by today’s famous pop and rock musicians.

Sia is confirmed to be covering “Blackbird,” while Pink is taking on “Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds. Pitchfork reports that “Yellow Submarine,” “Penny Lane,” “All You Need Is Love,” “Come Together,” “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band,” and “Help!” will also be covered by many different artists, including the Shins, Regina Spektor, Eddie Vedder, Of Monsters and Men, Chris Cornell, and many more.

“Bringing Beat Bugs to life on Netflix and having a platform to re-imagine this universally acclaimed music for families around the world is an exhilarating and rewarding experience,” creator/writer/director/producer Josh Wakely said in a statement, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

You can get a taste of the music to come in the trailer, which features Eddie Vedder’s version of “Magical Mystery Tour.”
