ADAM LAMBERT PERFORMS FOR HIS LAST TIME ON AMERICAN IDOL

With just a few weeks left, the final season of American Idol is almost over. It has been fifteen seasons, but it is coming to an end on April 7th. There are six contestants left: La’Porsha Renae, Trent Harmon, Dalton Rapattoni, Tristan McIntosh, Sonika Vaid, and MacKenzie Bourg.

They have been bringing in various past Idol contestants to perform on the show for the last time. Coming up this week is going to be Adam Lambert who made his start with American Idol in season 8, but despite the fact that was a runner-up in the show, he has risen to fame, especially in the gay pop scene. It was announced last week that he will be performing his new single, “Welcome to the Show” for his performance.

His new song will also be released earlier the same day as his performance on American Idol, which is this Thursday, March 17th. Lambert has released a small 30 second teaser of “Welcome to the Show,” which sounds poppy with an EDM sound, for us which you can view here.

We look forward to hearing his new single and watching his last performance on the show that he was discovered on. It should be quite a show, since Lambert is pretty flashy and dramatic in his style, as the song goes “Welcome to the show/welcome to my life.”

In regards to his new song, Lambert says, “I wanted to surprise my fans with a new, uplifting anthem for the spring. I asked Max Martin for help and he paired me up with two great writers and producers; Ali Payami, who worked with me on ‘Ghost Town,’ and Swedish star Laleh who is also a featured vocalist on the track.” Laleh has worked with Demi Lovato and season 9 Idol alum Tori Kelly, in addition to working with Lambert. Lambert goes on to say, “I feel this song will give people strength to be exactly who they are,” which Lambert has shown that he already has. Hopefully he passes that on to some of us that need that strength.
