Renée Stakey hails from Riverhead and her music has traveled the globe, beginning with “Rainy Day” (#1 Billboard breakout single in ’03). Renée has had a series of critically successful records and been a featured performer at venues ranging from Moscow’s Kremlin to Madison Square Garden. Having recently wrapped her tenure as a recording artist in the Dance Music genre, she began recording the highly anticipated debut album entitled “Be My Song”.
Renée has been involved in church music since the age of 8, starting at St. John’s in Riverhead. During a one year study abroad with the Rotary Exchange program, Renée played piano/organ and sang at the Cathedral and her school “Colegio de la Inmaculada” in Ambato, Ecuador. While at the Crane School of Music in Potsdam, she devoted four years to the music ministry at their campus parish. She has since held Music Director positions at several Parishes throughout the Diocese of Rockville Center and Brooklyn. Renée was recently featured on Telecare’s “Good News” with Monsignor Jim Vlaun and has made guest appearances on several local radio programs.
Recording a Liturgical album has been a life-long dream and it has finally come to fruition. Renée had been blessed with many wonderful people along her journey that have inspired this work and she is eager to share “Be My Song” with the world! This collaboration features time and talent from many of her colleagues that have inspired Renée to spread God’s word in song.
