For nearly two decades, Jus Jack’s sound has continuously been rooted in the New York dance industry. Due to an import section at the city’s finest record shops including Deca Dance, Rebel Rebel, Satellite, Vinyl Mania and Eight Ball Records in addition to trips to Greece and Spain as a teenager, his style has evolved into a unique blend of house with a distinct European influence. The club scene in the 1990s and early 2000s had a key impact on Jack’s inspiration; watching acts like Moby perform live made him realize that he was at home after seeing people react to music. From playing the main room at Limelight and at Tunnel, he has had first hand experience of the classic New York nightlife staples. His first few productions were massive successes in the underground scene, a major highlight being Junior Vasquez supporting his beginnings at Sound Factory and Palladium. Jack’s first release, “Smoke,” sky rocketed to the top of the charts and was a ‘Top 3 Billboard Club Play.’ It wasn’t before long, heavyweight producers including Tiesto, Kaskade, AN21, Max Vangeli, Swedish House Mafia, Knife Party, and David Guetta began to notice his budding talent and supported his productions. “I’ve taken all the knowledge I have seen and heard throughout the years and approach my music from a fans perspective as well as an artist to give me a well rounded attitude to what I do,” Jack explains. “I want every single person to enjoy what I am doing musically.” Hot off the heels of a release schedule including one on Tiesto’s label, Musical Freedom and an EP on Steve Aoki’s Dim Mak Records, Jus Jack starts “Party People” his new label, as a new home for up and coming talent. With Regular appearances at Marquee, Pacha, New City Gas, Studio Paris Chicago, amongst other major nightlife venues, the DJ/Producer remains a staple in the music scene.
