Bright Light Bright Light

Bright Light Bright Light is the moniker of Welsh-born Rod Thomas, a singer, writer, producer and DJ that NME have called “the boy Robyn in all but name”.

Debut album ‘Make Me Believe In Hope’ won praise from Q, The Guardian, Sunday Times Culture, Time Out, Billboard, NME, and even Elton john, one of Rod’s musical heroes. In support of the album he toured with Ellie Goulding, Scissor Sisters, Erasure and Clock Opera.

While he produces and mixes himself, and has produced remixes for Erasure, Kelis, James Yuill, and Kathy Diamond, his records involve collaborations with Andy Chatterley (Kylie / Nerina Pallot), The Invisible Men (Iggy Azelia, Jessie J), Ian Masterson (Belinda Carlisle, Dannii Minogue) and Boom Bip (Neon Neon).

Cementing a strong friendship with Scissor Sisters on their UK tour, he has since DJd with Jake Shears, covered ‘West End Girls’ with Ana Matronic (which the Pet Shop Boys themselves called “a sparkling cover”), and become a key member of Del Marquis’ solo project Slow Knights, whose debut album also won praise from Billboard.

Always busy and always making music, Rod is readying for his second album, put together with the help of Del Marquis, Bridget Barkan, Xavier Smith, Sophie Galpin, and Milly Blue who became the family in the studio as the album was recorded in London and New York.
